JEFF SAMPSON        SOUND with VISION


I've been singing for a long, long (long!) time. Until shortly after the millenium flipped, it was a variety of rock styles. Then I discovered the creative joy of atmospheric wanderings - soundscapes and such. I still sing rock (Often Coiled being the most recent venture in that direction), and I still collaborate with other musicians. Yet, despite the creative high that comes from working with other artists, I can't ignore the satisfaction that sits next to working on my own.

I added synthesizers to my sonic tools a couple of decades ago and, although I've been less than speedy in integrating them, I thoroughly enjoy the mix of voice and synth. But my voice is my primary instrument - the one I reach for first.
